 | ATLAS/CRAFTSMAN TYPE CROSS SLIDE (A-11). This "T" cross slide equips Atlas/Craftsman 9, 10, and 12 inch lathes for milling and line boring operations. The "T" slot mounting system on 1 5/8" centers is similar to that of the S-4382 cross slide, except that instead of three "T" slots and tapped holes it has six "T" slots. The dimensions of the drawing are those of the cross slide received "as cast." Allow at least 1/16" machining allowance. While it is possible to use the existing gib with the new cross slide, it is recommended that longer gib be used to take advantage of the new full length "V" ways. A 1/8 x 1/2 x 11" piece of cold rolled steel can be supplied with the kit for $3.50 extra. Besides the iron casting, the kit for making the cross slide includes two full size drawing sheets, one showing an adaptor for mounting the topslide compound on the cross slide for turning operations.
